The TH-42PF11Ci screen is a full HD resolution professional plasma monitor designed for critical image viewing which makes it ideal for use in demanding home cinema installations. Supplied complete with a twin HDMI input board the display is ready to take all manner of HD and SD video signals up to 1080p at 24Hz.
Component video and analogue RGB/component PC inputs are also available as standard plus control via RS232. The screen supports audio, and side mounted speakers are available to order, being fed by the 2x 8w internal amplifier.
Panel structure is all new with Panasonic's Dynamic Black Layer now included. This allows the pre-discharge to be reduced, a common cause of 'greying' in other displays. The new pre-discharge level is 1/3 that of previous models. The resulting contrast is 30 000:1 (1 000 000:1*)

Video processing in conventional models uses a 16-bit processor whereas the TH-42PF11CiB uses an 18-bit processor. Gradation levels reach 5,120 steps as a result and real gamma control is achieved giving very smooth shading on images.
Dual picture modes are available to monitor two sources at once, for limitations on this see the leaflet. Multi-display functionality is inbuilt so displays of more than one screen can be built up to a maximum of 5x5 screens with one image distributed across them all.
