HIGHLIGHTS OF A SUCCESSFUL CEDIA 2009

Despite the current economic climate CEDIA EXPO'09 was a resounding success and we extend our thanks to all who supported us and came to the show.

Highlights from the show:-

DF SOLUTIONS – Base Media Server
One of the major talking points at the Expo this year was the new media server from DF solutions.  AWE has been appointed the exclusive UK CI distributor.  As you would expect from a media server you can store both movies and music but in addition to this the BASE has:

  • Flickr - The ability to view photos from Flickr photo sharing site.
  • Last.fm – So music can be streamed from an enormous database.
  • 1Tb storage on-board with virtually unlimited NAS storage options (No expensive storage lock-ins).
  • 2-way content browsing - via iPhone, Philips Pronto remotes, and 3rd party control systems including AMX, Crestron and others.

All of this for a fraction of the cost of most major brands in this sector backed up by AWE’s award winning training and support. For full details of this fantastic product click:

PANASONIC CHT – Custom Home Theatre Plasma
Exclusive to AWE are the Panasonic CHT screens, which definitely proved themselves as “The Best Plasma for the CI industry”.  Both the 50” (TH50VX100E) and the 65” (TH65VX100E) were on display as well as the daddy of the family, the 103” TH-103.

PHILIPS PRONTO

The AWE Solutions House demonstrated fantastically well the 2-way capabilities of Pronto.  Also with their first UK showing were the leather finished Pronto’s and the new TSU9300. We have an offer on demo TSU9300's until the end of July so contact your sales manager for details.

ARCAM
Another major announcement at the show was AWE’s recently enhanced distribution agreement with ARCAM. In addition to the multi-channel amps and Solo systems, authorised CI dealers now have access to the award winning AVR600 AV receiver.

PANASONIC Viera & BD Recorder.

The full range of Panasonic Viera screens was on show including the new Z1 range neo PDP with wired/wireless media box. Also on show was the UK’s first  showing of the DMR850 Blu Ray recorder with twin Freesat tuner and HDD.  Our recent distribution deal with Panasonic to bring the superb CHT screens to the Ci market place continues to go from strength to strength. Both the 50 and 65" versions were on show along with the immense 103" plasma.

PHILIPS
AWE had the exclusive launch of the brand new Philips Cinema 21:9 LCD Television 56PFL9945H. This screen has the best aspect ratio for watching movies without those unsightly black bars top and bottom. This was not the only new offering from Philips. They also had on show other new screens from their 2009 rage with impressive video processing producing some very impressive images with very well featured sets. Ethernet equipped TV's for streaming video, music and images from your PC or the internet - some even with internal wifi.

PIONEER
Without Kuro screens many were wondering what Pioneer would be showing, and we had an exclusive first showing of their Brand new high end CI in-ceiling speakers, plus the new Blu Ray players and AV receivers. Their focus is firmly on the AV market with a new line up of smart AV receivers with many Ci features. Sound quality and operation is paramount, non more so than in their luxurious S3EX speakers (the name says it all!) and SC-LX90 'Susano' powerhouse of an AV amplifier.

XANTECH
The DIGI-5 zone audio system created huge interest with it’s digital amplifier based keypads providing more power and higher quality than analogue systems. The European style keypad due for launch Q4 was shown as well as the extensive IR distribution and Multi-room controller products.

YAMAHA
The new 2009 line up of AV from Yamaha was presented, some for the first time. The receiver range boasts HDMI galore and HD audio processing almost as standard. Visitors were impressed with the other audio products too. On show were various devices aimed at getting brilliant sound from iPod's, iPhone's and other mobile music devices.
