Blackwing One is Launched

The new Cineversum BlackWing One projector has now launched.
A state-of-the-art yet affordable projector, the BlackWing One integrates the latest technologies available on the market, has 1080p resolution (1920x1080) using the acclaimed 3-LCOS engine, and has HDMI 1.3 connections, all within a futuristic chassis designed by Antoine Béon in Paris.

Blackwing One

This, the entry-level to the BlackWing family at a likely street price of £3,999, is easy to install with every unit carefully tested and individually calibrated to ensure high quality performance, straight out of the box. Cineversum has also created a new colour calibration tool, designed for advanced users and installers, which allows each primary and secondary color to be set independently in each room configuration. The projector offers a 1.5x zoom (1.5-2.2 throw ratio), a high brightness of 1400 Ansi lumens and vertical and horizontal lens shift capability (+/- 60% vertical, +/- 30% horizontal), it is compatible with virtually any room.

As with the other projectors in the BlackWing range, the BlackWing One give a cinema-like performance and the full-glass Ultimate Reference Lens combined with a 3 chip L-COS Full-HD engine produces an amazing 15,000:1 contrast ratio. In addition, the internal HQV video-processor enhances the input signal quality and removes video noise getting the best out of any source. The projector’s chassis is made in ABS-PC which absorbs both heat and noise, reducing the working noise level of the BlackWing One to less than 20 dB.

There are two further options for this new projector to acheive the true cinematic experiance of Cinemascope 2.35:1.

The BlackWing One is compatible with Cineversum’s 2.35 Theatre Concept Kit. At the touch of a button on the remote control, the home owner can switch from the classic 16:9 aspect ratio to the breathtaking Cinemascope format where movies can be enjoyed in their genuine 2.35 format. This is thanks to Cineversum’s first-grade anamorphic lens and proprietary motorized sliding system. With all the processing required on board, an external scaler is not required for the necessary processing.

Add on Anamorphic lens system for the Blackwing One.

The second option is a new non-motorised system specifically for this projector. Cineversum refer to it as the Cinemax option.  A high contrast prismatic anamorphic lens is fixed to the projector and left in place permanently. The processing is taken care of internally (just like the motorised system) but in this case when you require a 16:9 image the projector adjusts its image so that when passed through the Cinemax lens your screen shows 16:9. A simple button press/RS232 command and the processing switches back to 2.35:1 and you are back to full cinematic images.
This system has the advantage of being slightly cheaper than the motorised lens system and is idealy suited to installs where the projector is used primarily for movie viewing in a dedicated room. It is easy to install and requires minimal setup plus it is styled to match the overall design of the blackwing One.
