Over the three days we managed to provide over 300 training sessions covering Philips Pronto products and Xantech control solutions.
The Pronto sessions took the form of bite size training on the new PEP2 software (Pronto Edit Professional) and the new TSU-9800 remote control. The Pronto House was used as an effective demonstration of how all these systems can pull together into one neat control solution, covering everything from lights to media servers in multiroom applications. Xantech training was a mix of overview of current and forthcoming products with a in depth look at the Dragon Drop programming software used in many of their products including their multiroom systems.
New products being shown for the first time were, as mentioned above, the Philps Pronto TSU-9800 and Pioneers' new slim plasma screens, the KRP-600M full HD monitor and the KRP-500A TV with media receiver, both from the KURO range. Onkyo presented their flagship AV receiver TX-NR906 and the AV Pre-amplifier PR-SC886. Denon had the new DVD-2500BT BluRay transport and Yamaha displayed the RX-V1900 AV receiver, also new for the season.
Not to be left out with new innovations the Imerge boys were on hand to provide delegates with a hands on display of their Tune XChange iPod integration software.
Although not new to the industry but new to AWE was the KEF range of home cinema KHT speakers. We can now offer these superb systems and had a few on display with a complete 7.1 system live in our demonstration room.
It was not all work work work however - as the sore heads from manufacturers and AWE staff proved each morning! Attendees were able to take part in a pool competition to see who was quickest with the cue. We decided to name the champion "fastest potter of all the stripes without too many fouls Champion" and no prizes for guessing what they had to do to win the bottle of champagne. Congratulations to Joe Hall of JH Networks for smoking the rest of you and becoming our champion.
