AWE, the exclusive distributor of the Philips Pronto range to the UK CI market, has been appointed by Polar Bear Solutions as the EMEA distributor of its new Pronto wall dock, the PB-PWD9600. The dock is for use with the Philips Pronto TSU-9600 and is available from AWE throughout the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

The dock, developed by Polar Bear Solutions with input from AWE, comprises of two parts, a back box and the dock itself. The back box can be installed during the first or second fix allowing all cables to be terminated and tested before the main dock is fitted. The dock can then be fitted which has the mounting platform for the Pronto. It works on a soft eject mechanism, which presents the controller forwards when being released, making it easier to remove the unit.

When in the dock the Pronto operates as normal and, with the addition of a 12v DC power feed, the TSU9600 charges whilst docked. The dock also has four hard-keys that can be used for any critical applications that may be required, such as lighting control, projector screen drop and other i/o device integration. So, for example, docks sited near a doorway can be used to operate the lights even with the Pronto left on the coffee table! Should these buttons not be required, a blanking strip is included to cover them up.
