New firmware release

On Jan 17, a firmware update was released for the TSU9600 & TSU9400. The new release incorporates the following updates:

  1. Support of the rotary wheel. From now on ProntoScript modules can be developed that allow using the rotary wheel for e.g. scrolling through music lists.
  2. Support of fetching images over IP. Now it’s possible to create ProntoScript modules that show e.g. album art or images from a server. Also image stretching is supported allowing dynamical resizing.
  3. Support of IP cameras (JPEG images). A first module for IP cameras (Panasonic BB-HCM511) is now available from www.prontoscript.com.

Pronto Certification Program

In the course of 2007, Philips launched the Pronto certification program. The program allows installers, after training and an exam, to become certified Pronto installers. To start the certification program, an installer needs to be activated on the Professionals area of the Pronto website.

The certification program contains 3 levels:

1.      Level 1 certification is granted to installers that show excellent knowledge of our product range and basic programming. The certificate can be obtained by taking the online test on the Pronto site.

2.      Level 2 certification is awarded to installers that can demonstrate excellent knowledge in installing a full single room solution. The certificate can be obtained by taking the online test on the Pronto site.

3.      Level 3 certification is awarded to installers that demonstrate excellent skills in installing a multi-room solution. This certificate can be obtained by taking a hands-on exam. The first level 3 certification exams will take place at IS Europe in the RAI in Amsterdam on 29 & 31 Jan. For more details, please click here.

Training modules for each level of certification are available on the site.
